About

The Powers That Be is a funk/jam band that seamlessly blends the East Bay funk tradition of tight rhythm and horn sections with the freedom and spontaneity of the great jam bands. Led by the soaring and powerful vocals of Judy Padilla the band brings a tight, soulful intensity to their new EP, and lights up crowds in their live performances. Their sound ranges from quiet, introspective, and jazzy to pure funk, latin, pop and beyond.
